FRIENDS

Watch the rose open and close, takes about 1 minute.

"Nobody sees a flower,
really, it is so small.
We haven't time,
and to see it takes time--
like to have a friend
takes time."

Georgia O'Keefe

This page is for Dorian, who,
through thick and thin stays by my side with help and guidence,
it was my attempt at making a very well deserved award for her.
Much love to you Dorian.

A man once said,"I would truly be the wealthiest
and luckiest man on earth if I can count the number of friends I have on one hand."
If this is so, then I must be one of the luckiest women
on earth to have the honor of being friends with you.
God Bless You Dorian!

Friends are encouragement when times are rough.
Friends are memories both precious and real.
Friends understand and know how you feel.
Friends are laughter and also tears.
Friends are trusting, loyal and kind.

A FRIEND IS A TREASURE
A friend is someone we turn to,
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives,
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the world we live in,
a beter and happier place.

This is a poem sent to me by Dorian,
she swears when we finally meet,
She will have on the red hat and purple.

Warning! by Jenny Joseph
When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
An make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But new we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
